Edwards Scholarship Fund

The Edwards Scholarship Fund was established in 1939 by the will of Grace M. Edwards, a lifelong resident of Boston. The basic purpose of the fund is to further the development of good citizenship through education. The Fund offers scholarships to young men and women of good character and ability who are in need of financial assistance for higher education. Recipients are encouraged to remember the Fund when they are gainfully employed in their chosen professions. Donations to the Fund are acknowledged in writing and are completely tax deducible.

1. Only students domiciled in the City of Boston (at least since the beginning of their junior year in high school) are eligible for aid from the Fund. The City of Boston includes the following areas, in addition to the central areas of the city: Allston, Brighton, Charlestown, Dorchester, East Boston, Forest Hills, Hyde Park, Jamiaca Plain, Mattapan, Readville, Roslindale, Roxbury, South Boston, West Roxbury.

1. Scholarships may be used at any accredited school or college, in a program leading to an associates, bachelor’s (or higher) degree.

2. Students may not receive scholarship aid for more than six years. The trustees reserve the right to withdraw a scholarship at any time if a student’s record or actions prove to be unworthy of a recipient.
