The URBANO Project - Free Arts/Performance Workshops for HS Students

Urbano's mission is to empower urban teens to effect social change through visionary works of art and performance.

It offers free contemporary arts and performance opportunities for Boston-area public high school students after school in its new studio in the Brewery Building in Jamaica Plain (around the corner from the Stony Brook stop on the Orange Line).

Its semester-long Artists' Workshops are taught by professional artists, and emphasize collaborative work, artistic exploration, and creation of public art and innovative exhibitions.

Teens from all over the Boston area are welcome to apply - beginners and more advanced artists will all have a chance to try something new. Please see the flyer / application for more information. Application deadline is Wednesday, January 27, 2010.
